About

After putting the pressure on (look at the comments section of this page) I’m finally getting around to updating this ‘about me’ page.
I’m Gil, happily married and father to 4 little cute-but-never-go-to-sleep kids. I started my online journey after realising that even though both my wife and I have great jobs, we barely scrape by.

I always thought living paycheck to paycheck was not something relevant to me but guess what? I really do live like that.
I “think” I make a good living but I have to confess that in all truth, we couldn’t go on an extended vacation even for a month.
All that means to me is that the system we’ve been raised on just doesn’t work.
You know, the old work hard and you’ll be fine mantra.

I realised I wanted to teach my kids another way. I wasn’t sure what but I knew there had to be something better. I kept having nightmares of my boss forcing me to miss one of my kids end of the year play or any other important event. I knew right then and there that I had to find something else as an income source.

I don’t want to be rich and famous.
Nope.
All I really want is to have the income to support my family FOREVER and take as many vacations as possible.
I don’t want to retire.
I don’t want to stop doing things.
I just want to have a lot of beautiful memories with the family and make damn sure I can afford it.

One of my dreams is to leave everything behind and go on a full year vacation with all the family. I hate to admit it to myself but I can’t do that. Not right now. But I have a clear vision of where I want to go and why, so I’ll get there eventually.

To get there I’m working online right now, at nights when everyone else is asleep (I get a lot more done that way).

I read and learn at blazing speeds, and I’m also an MBA graduate so I’m very keen on the business side of things. I rarely see anyone teach true business building strategies so I’m going to step up and talk about it because I think it’s crucial.

After that rather long intro let me say Hi and welcome to my blog. It’s a real treat to have you here.
This is where I will journal my thoughts, my victories and my failures so you can learn from my mistakes and learn what it truly takes to make it online.
Plus I’ll be sharing all of the effective tools and strategies I pick up that I use so you can use ‘em too.

And here’s a little nifty video I made on 25 things about me after I was prompted to do so by one of my readers (thanks Shirley )

Here’s to changing all of our children’s lives for the better by doing (and not by talking) and thus being their role models.

I hope you get tremendous value by coming back and reading this blog of mine. My aim is to give you so much that you will have the results you crave.

I can be reached be commenting on this blog or by email: gilscorner at gmail dot com and look forward to being in touch with you personally.

I’ll see you at the top,

      Hi Gil,
Could not find the comments section! Love the site – love the header – and you won it! Excellent. Can I express envy in a small way.

Will you now fill out this part of your page? I’m awaiting photos lost on my other hard drive – what is your reason.

Looking for you – and again, the site and content looks fantastic. I’m wondering about hosting too. (good job since I’m quite happy with mine).

Many thanks for all the great, informative content. It’s extremely helpful. Love Your Writing Style.
      Thanks,
      Susan

      Hi Gil,

I just wanted to comment on something you mentioned in your post “having nightmares of my boss forcing me to miss one of my kids end of the year play or any other important event”

For me it wasn’t a nightmare, it was reality. I missed so many important moments in life, you know the ones you will never get back.

I give you credit for stepping up and looking for a better way of life. It hard and scary at times but in the end you will look back and thank god that you had the courage to make that move.

      I hope all goes well

      Alvin Dawe
PS. hopefully you are not still living out of a cardboard box.

      Hi Gil,
I saw a comment you put on Tai’s blog on August 10, telling her how to put a picture in her optin box. I’ve been trying to get somebody to show me how to do that. I saw the sample link that you gave, but I don’t know how to get the image there.

      ( img src=”http://yourwebsite.com/yourimage.jpg )

Can you give me a little more detailed instruction on getting the image where I can add it to my website?

By the way, I didn’t comment on your blog. It looks GREAT! I’m still plodding along trying to get mine going, which is taking me WAY too long!

Hey Gil, watch out for all those dairy products! Love your bio slides & jealous of you being what looks like a very happening one.
About volunteering as a teacher + ’see you at the top’: the top is heaven and eternal life – obviously – so hope you will slip that into teaching.
God bless and thank you for the friendly and unobtrusive marketing.

Hi Gil – Loved your about me video! I’m the same, I don’t want to be a millionaire, but I want to have the freedom. Barely scraping by has been my life for 10 years. I’m ready for that to change.

      Take care – heidi

Boy, are we on the same page! There has to be a better way to earn a living than by working 60-hour weeks and then retiring with very little to show for it.

Just fyi – I found you when you began to follow me on Twitter. Immediately went up to check you out and clicked through to your web site. Like it a lot! Will follow you here in a minute.
