The big move – how to do it with your mother in law, your dog, 4 kids and still stay in 1 piece
Wheew, the move is now over and done with!
What a load off. If you can imagine moving to the country with 4 little kids, a dog, my mother in law that came all the way out from overseas to be a part of the whole thing and help out – then you’ve just imagined mayhem.
Actually it wasn’t that bad. We’re still opening cardboard boxes trying to figure out where everything goes, and I was stuck without milk the other day and had no idea where the store was. But it’s not that bad.
We now live in a beautiful mediterranean style villa with a huge garden and a small orchard – grapes, lime, passion fruit, mango, rosemary and I’m sure there are others but being a city boy I have no idea what they are (I’m used to getting my fruit from the supermarket all nicely wrapped and ready to go). So the setting is perfect.
We’ve also met some of the neighbours. I don’t know about you but in the city rarely does someone greet you with cake when you move in. It certainly hasn’t happened to me. But in the country, this seems to be the norm. So in pops the first neighbour, says hi and brings us cake. Needless to say we where in shock but I don’t mind being in shock if they keep the cakes coming
Anyway, I haven’t been online these past couple of days as I had some trouble getting the internet setup correctly. Now that’s all over and done with and I am ready to rock!
All in all, I’m glad we moved. This is a new beginning for all of us.
So with everything setup, the internet working and me sipping coffee in the morning trying to figure out if I know any of these other trees in the orchard, I’ll say bye for now.
I’m off finding you a piece of software I use and I believe will help you a great deal. I’ve been meaning to do this for a while but with the move I never got to it. Now that everything is getting back to normal, I’ll do this first. It’s a free article spinner I use, which is superb. So once I find it and put in on the website for you to download, I’ll be posting the link here. It’ll probably be here by tomorrow or so.
I was thinking of giving this to you as it’s an essential tool and I love free stuff that works well. I think it will come in handy for you.
As for tools of the trade so to speak, comment below and tell me If there are any other tools, templates, tutorials and such that you want. I most probably have some of them or know someone who does. So tell me what you’re looking for and I’ll do my best to hand it over.
Here’s to new beginnings

Hi Gil,
Sounds as if you have reached your paradise already.
They say it takes 6 months to “get back to normal” after a move but you seem to be in a great place while you are waiting.
Your blog is getting better and better and I will return, if only to see how you are settling in
)
And a late congratulations on the RogBlog award.
regards,
Dave

Gil,
Brings back memories of a couple moves ago… The one thing I finally learned is to pay movers to do the work and let my wife supervise.
Until that is her mother showed up.
Then I got heck for not doing anything.
Tomorrow, she’s coming for another visit.
Better say my prayers tonight.
Cheers,
Rob
